History of Foreign Car Clinic & Parts, Inc., Melbourne, Florida

Foreign Car Clinic was started in 1969 by Franz Brett with the commitment to outstanding customer service, through quality parts, the latest equipment, information and knowledge to repair today's complex automobiles. In 1973 it moved to it's present location at 2101 Aurora road, Melbourne, Florida. In the summer of 1973 Franz hired a young mechanic named Bruce Williams who had just moved to Florida from California unknowing that ten years later Bruce would purchase the business so that Franz could spend full time in his used car business. In the beginning Foreign Car Clinic specialized primarily in the repair and service of the Volkswagen beetle and it's counterparts the Volkswagen van, the type III & IV Volkswagen squarebacks which were some of the first gas fuel injected production cars in the world. In 1983 after graduating from Rollins college Bruce Williams accepted Franz's offer to purchase Foreign Car Clinic. As Foreign Car Clinic began to see the demise of the Volkswagen Bug in the early 80's they began to expand their specialties into other gas and diesel European cars, then into the expanding Japanese auto repair market until today when they work on all makes and models domestic and foreign.

Foreign Car Clinic becomes Bosch Authorized Service Center


In 1991 the Robert Bosch Corporation accepted Foreign Car Clinic as one of its United States authorized service centers. Bosch has always been a world automotive leader during its over 100 years serving the driving public. Bosch has been one of the world's innovators in gasoline and diesel fuel injection, anti-lock brake systems and hybrid ignition and electrical systems. Bosch was the inventor of the automotive oxygen sensor, an emission controls reducing device that is used in all of today's Hyundai and Kia cars. 1988 brought about the appointment of Foreign Car Clinic as one of only 12 facilities in Brevard County that are approved as a "AAA" repair facility. Having the AAA sign out front assures every customer of a high level of integrity, satisfaction and value when having their automobile serviced just like when your on the road looking for a hotel. Foreign Car Clinic has met the rigorous standards set by AAA concerning training, warranty and equipment requirements. Foreign Car Clinic Employees ASE Certified Technicians


We believe in participating in the industry standards testing of technician competency, which are called the ASE tests. We are proud to be able to report that Bruce Williams, Doug Eddy and Greg St.Pierre have passed all eight certification tests and have earned the title of "Master Automotive Technician" which has only been attained by a small percentage of all certified technicians.

The Automotive Service Association is the automotive industries largest association with a membership of over 5,000 independent repair shops from coast to coast.
